Welcome to Robinson's Sickle Cell Foundation: HOLD a HEART!, a non-profit 501c3 community-based organization serving eastern North Carolina mainly Hertford, Gates, Northampton and Bertie counties. Our mission is to support, educate, and advocate for those living with sickle cell disease (SCD).

SCD is a genetic red blood cell disorder that affects the body's ability to produce healthy red blood cells. As a result, people with SCD may experience a lack of oxygen transport throughout the body, fatigue, infections, strokes, severe pain, and premature death. It is a chronic and often misunderstood medical condition that can greatly impact a person's quality of life.

At Robinson's Sickle Cell Foundation: HOLD a HEART!, we are dedicated to raising awareness about SCD and the impact it has on individuals and families. We believe that education is key to improving the lives of those affected by the disease. We also provide support to sickle cell warriors in the form of food, medication assistance, and transportation to and from medical appointments.

In addition to raising awareness and providing support, we also advocate for those living with SCD. We attend and host awareness events focused on sickle cell disease and provide resources to support sickle cell warriors in the areas where they need it most. Our goal is to create a more supportive and understanding community for those affected by SCD decrease SCD health disparities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the sickle cell community and make a difference in the lives of those affected by the disease.
